Endeavour House, is calling for all local artists aged 16 years and above to help design a 12m x 32m mural wall on a prominent, external wall facing both traffic on Canberra Avenue and the main shopping precinct of Manuka. We warmly welcome emerging, First Nations and People of Colour to apply.
The theme for our mural is climate change, as chosen by the tenant community of Endeavour House and the local traders within Manuka shopping precinct. The theme of climate change was considered the most relevant and pressing issue facing our community.
Ethical Property will coordinate authority approval for the winning entry, as well as oversee installation of the design via banner over the wall, at Ethical Property’s own cost. The winning design will receive a separate $25,000 artist fee, with the design being decided by a public vote held in February 2021.

Endeavour House was originally constructed in the 1950s as a two-storey retail precinct around a large glass atrium. Over the next 20-30 years it was extended to four storeys and largely converted to offices.
In the 1980’s, Endeavour House was the nerve centre for the design team during the construction of new Parliament House.
It seems fitting that a building which was once a hub for those designing the home of the Federal Parliament should now be a centre for organisations designing a better Australia.
Endeavour House is a thriving centre for social change organisations in Canberra, and is owned and managed by Ethical Property, a landlord who believes property can be more than just bricks and mortar.
Our community offers a mix of tenants organisations involved in campaigning, community health services, business services, research and policy development, as well as local retailers.
Endeavour House holds a clear vision to become the platform for the Australian “Voice” of Social Change, which means:
Since purchasing the building in 2016 we have been working hard to bring this vision to light, and we remain committed with full and complete implementation expected by 2025.
